The site is not a part of Spiegel company, for legal reasons. The site serves only Spiegel customers, so it must contain it elements and styles so users would find the transaction familiar and seamless.
The site focus on accurately conveying these key attributes of the Spiegel brand: elegant, intellectual and sophisticated. The design relies heavily on a simple yet defined grid, which brings structure to the site. It was designed with purchasing habits in mind, much of the site followed the exact process so the customers feel like they are on the Spiegel site.
